Worksite Representative Training

PSA training is a valuable resource for PSA members. Members are entitled to 10 days paid trade union training leave every two years. Our training courses are designed to develop important skills that will benefit you personally and in your career.

As a PSA worksite representative, you play an essential role in the union. You are a vital link between members at your local worksite and the PSA, and the PSA offers specifically tailored training to enable Worksite Representatives to carry out their role.

The following is a list of Worksite Representative specific training courses for 2018.

Worksite Representatives Level One

This training is delivered over a three-day course program. This course covers communication skills, what is the role of the Worksite Representative, interpreting industrial provisions and problem solving skills, union history and much more.

Whether you are a long-serving worksite representative or are new to the role, this course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to undertake your role confidently and effectively.

Worksite Representatives Level Two

This course is available to those Worksite Representatives who have completed the Worksite Representatives Course 1 (or equivalent). The training is delivered over a two-day program. This course develops advanced communication skills as well as leadership skills.

Representing Members in the Workplace

If you have a particular interest in the skills required to support members with individual issues then this is the course for you! It covers supporting members, negotiation skills and dealing with management.

Effective Workplace Meetings

Consultative committee meetings offer particular opportunities for Worksite Representatives to address workplace issues this course looks at how to get the most out of these meetings.
