Time for Consultation - SAMI Administration Review at the RAH

02 March 2017

The PSA has been advised of the commencement of the Administration Support Review at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. A copy of the correspondence from SAMI can be found here.

This review was expected following the recent announcement by the Department of Health and Ageing of the review of existing models of imaging services for both inpatients and outpatients in advance of the transition to the new RAH. The terms of reference of Imaging Services review being undertaken by KPMG did not specifically include the role of Administration Support at the RAH. The PSA will continue to consult with the department over the KPMG review and members will be kept updated.

The PSA has made numerous representations to SAMI Executive and People and Culture about the ongoing chaos in the management of the Administration department of SAMI at the RAH over the preceding year.

The SAMI administration team have worked for months without ongoing leadership and guidance, with increased workload demands with the introduction of the multi-faulted RIS/ESMI system, lack of clarity around the administration leads in modalities, sporadic staff meetings and a complete lack of discussion around the nRAH transition.

The PSA has also made representations to the Department of Health and Ageing about the role of administration staff in ensuring that SAMI at the new RAH runs smoothly.

The opportunity for the Administration Support Team at the RAH to be heard has arrived. SAMI have advised of their commitment to ongoing consultation during the Review of Administration Support. Two PSA members in the administration team have been invited to participate in direct consultation with SAMI and PSA Officials.

Please indicate your interest to participate as an employee representative directly to PSA by Friday 10 March 2017.

To provide any feedback please email PSA Industrial Officer Rachael Scott at rachael.scott@cpsu.asn.au or call 8205 3293.
