State Library of South Australia Restructure Update

21 November 2017

The PSA acknowledges the commitment and resilience that our members of the State Library of South Australia (SLSA) have demonstrated throughout this lengthy restructure process.

As members would be aware, on Monday 30 October 2017 Department of State Development (DSD) Deputy Chief Executive Alex Reid contacted the PSA about the possibility of delaying the detailed design presentation as Mark Duffy Chief Executive DSD had asked for more time to consider the proposed structure. DSD made a commitment that staff of SLSA would have the presentation no later than 16 November 2017.

On Wednesday 15 November the PSA contacted DSD HR to follow up on the detailed design presentation. The PSA was advised that there had been no indication when this would be delivered as they were waiting for a directive from DSD Senior Executive. The PSA stressed to DSD HR the importance of communication with SLSA staff about the process and time frames.

The PSA has had no further communication from DSD at this point in time.

The PSA understands this can be a stressful and distressing time for members. It is important that SLSA members stay strong and united in our resolve that we will not accept any more job losses.
