SAPOL Opens Up For Consultation

04 January 2018

The Public Service Association (PSA) has received documentation from South Australia Police (SAPOL) in reference to the establishment of a Public Protection Branch. This new entity will bring together Special Crime Investigation Branch (SCIB), Offender Management Plan (OMP), Police Corrections Section (PCS), and Family and Domestic Violence Branch under one branch with three distinct sections.

PSA members currently working in these areas are asked to contact PSA by email (here) with any concerns regarding any aspect of the proposed new branch. The PSA has been advised that the consultation period for feedback closes on 31 January 31 2018.

Consultative Forums have been established in three key areas where reviews are currently under way. These forums cover SAPOL Organisational Reform Program, Project Equitas and the establishment of Public Protection Branch.

Feedback from members will assist the PSA to respond to any concerns that members have moving forward. The establishment of these forums is a big step forward in the consultative process with SAPOL and giving members a voice.
