SALHN Commences Consultation on Repatriation General Hospital Service Moves and Site Decommissioning

12 July 2016

The Public Service Association (PSA) has been provided with a presentation from Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) detailing work completed to date in planning for services moves off the Repatriation General Hospital site by the end of 2017.

A series of staff meetings across SALHN occurred yesterday, 11 July 2016 with PSA staff in attendance. For a copy of the presentation click here and for the proposed services moves for RGH - click here.

The plans incorporates earlier work consulted on with unions on the Clinical Reconfiguration process. Consultation will now commence and include the PSA and employees affected by these changes proposed for SALHN.

The updated proposal includes the process towards the decommissioning of the RGH site by the end of December 2017, ready for handover to the RSL so they can commence in 2018.

The reduction of a total of 107 beds are planned for the Southern Area in 3 phases to commence in July 2017.

At this stage no specific details have been provided in relation to final full time equivalent (FTE) reductions for SALHN after this process is completed.

Any proposed changes need to adhere to the consultative principles to ensure a transparent and genuine consultative process.

Please forward your questions or comments to the PSA.
