Restructure Consultation Process - SATC

10 May 2016

During the proposed restructure of the Marketing Group at South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) the PSA had flagged with management of an apparent lack of genuine consultation with staff.

Clause 26 (Consultative Processes) of the South Australian Public Sector Wages Parity Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2014 (the Agreement) clearly outlines the consultative principles and steps that are required to be adhered to by the parties bound by the Agreement. In particular this clause states that:

Consultation involves the sharing of information and the exchange of views between employers and persons or bodies that must be consulted and the genuine opportunity for them to contribute effectively to any decision making process.”

After feedback from members, the PSA wrote to SATC to outline concerns and demand that management adhere to the proper process.

On Friday, 6 May 2016, SATC responded with a letter agreeing to extend the consultative process until Friday, 13 May 2016.

We encourage members who wish to address any concern to contact the PSA before Thursday 12 May 2016 by email to the PSA.
