Residential Care Rostering Project Consultation

26 February 2019

PSA members are invited to a meeting Wednesday, 6 March 2019 at 12:00pm, 122 Pirie St, Adelaide to discuss the latest proposal for roster changes to 12 hour shifts and subsequent policies and procedures released by Department for Child Protection (DCP) last week.

DCP's proposed changes include:

  • 12 hour shifts (Day and Night) - a major change to your working conditions.
  • Centralised rostering
  • Roster shortfall policy
  • Staff deployment guidelines
  • Agency engagement guideline

Members have been calling and emailing as requested to express your views on the current proposal for roster changes.

It is essential as many members as possible attend this meeting so we are able to gather your thoughts and feedback. This will enable the PSA to reflect your views and advocate on behalf of our members in Residential Care.

DCP has asked for all feedback to be in by Friday 8 March 2019. The PSA met with the Department Monday 25 February 2019 and have advised we will need more time to provide appropriate consultation with our members to ensure all members have the opportunity to express their views on the proposed changes to the pattern of working hours.
