Renewal SA: Contracts and URA Translation

23 August 2019

PSA Members met last week to discuss the most important issues in their workplace. Again, the issues of contract employment and the URA Translation have been the main concerns.

Members determined that they would seek to address the contract employment issue as a matter of priority following other agencies who have had success on this matter including, Housing SA, PIRSA and the Legal Services Commission. All of those agencies addressed the matter by first gathering specific information on the situation. It is critical that we have a full picture of staff’s expereince with this type of employment. To to be a part of this process you are encouraged to fill in the Renewal SA Survey here. Members are also encoruaged to send through ALL copies of their employment contracts to date as a part of this research. These contracts can be sent by email to PSA.

Members from Renewal SA continue to be frustrated about the URA Translation process and the classification they have been placed at. Many staff believe that they have been under-classified based on the classification standards for the Administration and Professional Officer Streams.

If you are unsure of what your appropriate translation level is you can review the classification standards here:
