RAH SAMI Administration Support Review

08 January 2018

The long-awaited Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) South Australian Medical Imaging (SAMI) Administration Support Review was delivered today.

The review proposes changes that appear to be necessary to enable Administration Support to service the extended hours function of the RAH Radiology Department and the new distributed model.

The major changes identified are:

- Introduction of two ASO 3 Coordinator positions.
- ASO 2 role description to require administration staff to become multi-skilled across modalities.

- Change to 24/7 contracts with shifts aligned to the radiographic shifts (currently 7:00am to 11:30pm).

A copy of correspondence to the PSA can be found here.

A copy of the Consultation Paper can be found here.

Transition principles are not included in the consultation paper. The PSA will request these today from SCSS People and Culture.

Of particular note, members might like to know:

- How the new ASO3 positions will be filled – open application or quarantined to existing staff?
- How might staff accommodate change of hours into their work/life responsibilities?

The consultation paper nominates 31 January 2018 as the conclusion of the consultation period.
