PSA Writes to the Chief Executive About Crib Breaks

27 February 2020

The Public Service Association (PSA) has written to Chief Executive Tony Harrison to advise of the motion passed at the two meetings of members held at AYTC Monday and Wednesday last week.

PSA members’ united approach and stated position has been put forward to the Chief Executive.

PSA members at Adelaide Youth Training Centre unanimously passed the following resolution:

That this meeting of PSA members at Adelaide Youth Training Centre agree to enter into good faith negotiations on a Workplace Flexibility Agreement relating to crib breaks on the following conditions:

1. that the appeal is withdrawn;

2. that members are paid monies owed arising from the decision of South Australian Employment Tribunal;

3. that the Department acknowledges that members require appropriate compensation if penalties for missed breaks are given up as a part of a Workplace Flexibility Agreement.
