PSA Secures Salary Sacrificing for Regional Health Members

30 August 2019

The PSA had continually raised concerns from members across Country Health about the security of access to salary sacrificing arrangements under the devolved health model.

The PSA has been advised that SA Health obtained informal guidance from the Australian Taxation Office that the current salary sacrifice arrangement will continue unchanged. SA Health has been advised that the transition will not result in the Local Health Networks needing to amend any staff’s access to the capped FBT exemption, where their duties remain exclusively in connection with a public hospital.

8 weeks in – How is your workload in the new structure?
The new Local Health Networks have been in operation for eight weeks now and the PSA is seeking information from members if they have seen any change to an increase in workloads. If members are aware of any staff vacancies not filled but instead staff being allocated this work on top of their current workloads, please let us know.

We need to know your new details
The PSA needs ALL members to complete our member details update form. Whether your worksite has changed or not it is important to your union that your details are all current on our system. Please make this a matter of priority to assist your Organiser in knowing where all regional members and city members are now located under which Local Health Network and your physical work address.
