Proposals for Restructuring Across Safework SA

After the December announcements of proposals for change following the budget reductions imposed on SafeWork SA a number of groups got together to consider submissions in response.

The library group has submitted possible alternatives that would see a staffed library service continue and PSA members have been encouraged by the support coming in from library users – HSRs, trainers, unions and employers. Members are also encouraged to show their support for the library as many of you are regular users of the service.

If your group would like to ask questions, seek more information or develop an alternative proposal, you are encouraged to contact PSA Organiser Keiran Macfarlane or your Worksite Representative (WSR). WSRs will meet next Wednesday 23 January 2019 to discuss current issues including the current proposals for change. Submissions are expected to be due by 31 January 2019.

Any proposal for change must consider workloads according to clause 15.2 of the South Australian Modern Public Service Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2017.


15.1 The parties acknowledge that the workload for individual employees or a group of
employees in a workplace (work group) must not be excessive, unreasonable or

an assessment of the potential impact on workloads for individual employees or a work
group in a workplace and measures proposed to manage such impacts. The intent of
managing impacts must be to minimise the risk of unreasonable workloads.
