Ongoing Workload Pressures at Edwardstown Community Corrections

30 June 2016

The PSA has written to the Executive Director Community Corrections about the ongoing and unsustainable workload pressures at Edwardstown Community Corrections.

The PSA letter inludes details about the increase in monitored offenders and the inadequate staffing in both the monitoring centre and field officers.

The PSA letter asks DCS for its plans on addressing these issues.

A further PSA visit to Edwardstown Community Corrections is planned for Wednesday 20 July 2016, between 1430 and 1600.

The PSA is committed to resolving the workload pressures including recommending members implement work bans and limitations, if required, to reduce workloads to a reasonable and tenable level.
