Office of the Public Advocate - Members Update

02 December 2016

The PSA will be meeting with Attorney Generals Department (AGD) and Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) representatives to discuss the ongoing dispute about the consultative process. The PSA will continue to update members through this process.

A copy of the latest PSA letter to AGD can be found here.

The PSA have included in our response the concerns of proposed changes raised by members. This includes the appropriate alignment of all duties across AHP2 and AHP3 roles, and balance of duties for AHP3 staff. We have also noted the fact that employment conditions proposed are inconsistent with the after hours on-call provisions for staff detailed in the position description.

The PSA has real concerns that AGD has notified employees about possible redeployment before the conclusion of consultation in a process, especially when there is no reduction in FTE amounts in OPA. This seemingly indicates a pre-determined outcome which is contrary to the genuine consultation clauses contained within the Enterprise Agreement.

Please direct any questions to the PSA or to your Worksite Representatives.
