Community Corrections | COVID-19 Update

The Public Service Association (PSA) met on Thursday 26 March 2020 with the Department for Correctional Services (DCS) ensuring they are up to date with COVID-19 procedures. Attending this meeting was PSA General Secretary Nev Kitchin, PSA Organisers, PSA Worksite Representatives, and DCS Executive Director, Community Corrections and Specialist Prisons. The meeting was productive and a number of outcomes were achieved for our members working in Community Correctional Centres. more>

Department for Child Protection Members Update | COVID- 19

The PSA continues to communicate with the Department for Child Protection (DCP) on a daily basis to monitor and keep up to date with the management of COVID-19. PSA Organiser has been taking up issues raised by members directly with DCP executive. A key issue that we have resolved directly with management was face to face visits. This was a major concern by the PSA and has now been restricted. Our members were expressing real concern, not primarily for their own health, but the health of carers and young people. more>
