Functional Review Of Youth Justice (2)

09 November 2018

The Public Service Association (PSA) has recently received further formal correspondence (here) from the Department of Human Services (DHS) advising of a functional review of additional areas across Youth Justice. The areas identified are as follows:

  •  Strategy and Reporting
  •  YJ Leadership Team
  •  Custodial Case Management (CYJ)
  •  Assessment and Case Coordination (AYTC)
  •  Programs (Psychology Services and AYTC)
  •  Catering and Stores
  •  Training and Compliance.

The review has already commenced for Business Services, Executive Support and Maintenance across the Youth Justice (YJ) Division.

Part of the proposed review includes the creation of a YJ Business Services Hub that will be located at Kermode Street, North Adelaide.

DHS is obliged under clause 34 of the South Australian Modern Public Sector Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2017 to undertake appropriate consultation in relation to any proposed changes that may affect employees’ working conditions or the services employees provide.

Consequently, a consultative forum is in the process of being established. The PSA and Worksite Representatives (WSRs) will be in attendance at these meetings. The first meeting has been rescheduled to Friday 9 November 2018 at Grenfell Street.

The PSA encourages members to provide feedback or concerns to their respective WSRs.
