Expectation of Good Management Practice

30 June 2017

The PSA has recently been approached by members at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital (WCH) detailing generally poor management practices. Some of these issues have been in relation to issuing of rosters in a timely manner and approval processes for leave taking.

It is not acceptable that members have been receiving rosters with limited notice and, on occasions, having these rosters changed without any consultation.

It is not acceptable that members apply for leave months in advance and wait in limbo for a decision to be made.

The above are examples of poor management practices that the PSA has raised with WCH. Since raising these concerns improvements have been noted.

Members have the right to expect good practice from their line management.

If you believe that this is not occurring in your work area and your line management seems unable to rectify matters, please contact PSA here.
