Enterprise Bargaining Update | The Ballot of Parliament House Employees Resulted in an Overwhelming "YES" Vote

20 December 2018

The ballot count for each of the three Enterprise Agreements is as follows:

House Of Assembly

17           Yes vote
0             No vote

Legislative Council

13           Yes vote
0             No vote

Joint Parliamentary Services (JPS)

72           Yes vote
2             Against vote

The process from here is as follows:

1. The EAs will be signed off by the Clerks and the Employee Representatives including the PSA. (This has occurred)

2. The JPS EA will go to the South Australian Employment Tribunal (SAET) for approval. (Scheduled for Friday 21 December 2018)

3. As stated in the JPS EA "Following approval of this Agreement by the SAET, the Agreement will not be binding on the Joint Parliamentary Service Committee until such time as the Committee makes a resolution pursuant to the Parliament (Joint Services Act) 1985 to give effect to that approval.” (This will probably not be until January 2019)

Once these processes have been completed, pay will be adjusted to the increase applicable from the first pay period on or after 1 October 2018. Retrospective payments to this date, and to the increase from the first pay period on or after 1 October 2017 will be made thereafter.
