Enterprise Agreement Ballot | Adelaide Festival Centre Trust

05 February 2019

The PSA recommend to vote “YES”.

Just prior to Christmas, the final negotiations on the new Enterprise Agreement for Professional and Administrative Staff concluded. It is now time for the draft agreement to go to a ballot.

Key achievements for members in the Agreement:

Salary and Allowances

  •  Almost 90% of PSA members will receive annual increases of 2% or more.
  •  Increases into the base salary of $1500 per annum for salaries up to $75,000.
  •  Increases into the base salary of $1800 per annum which ever is greater, for salaries above $75,000.
  •  Increases to be backdated to the first full pay period on or from 1 November 2017 and payable as soon as possible after the certification of the agreement.
  •  Subsequent increases 1 November 2018 and 1 November 2019.
  •  Increases in On-Call/Recall Allowances of 2.5%.

Additional Injury and Income Protection

  •  Inclusion of a new Appendix to the Agreement providing additional income and injury protection for members with work injuries where entitlements have expired under the Return to Work Act 2014. This brings cover for AFCT members into line with that available in the rest of the public sector.

Domestic and Family Violence leave

  •     Up to 15 days special leave with pay for members experiencing or escaping domestic/family violence.

Ceremonial/NAIDOC Leave

  •  Introduction of provisions for ceremonial and NAIDOC leave for employees who identify as Aboriginal.

Improvements for members who are Pregnant or Breastfeeding

  •  Introduction of provisions for pregnant members to transfer to a safe job if this is recommended by a qualified medical practitioner.
  •  Introduction of provisions for breastfeeding employees to have access to suitable facilities and time in the workplace.

Probationary Periods

  •  Removal of the clause in the previous agreement that allowed AFCT to extend probationary periods.

The new agreement also includes clearer provisions around part-day public holidays, rights to representation and membership of associations and workforce training.

Members can expect the ballot papers to be mailed to them during the week commencing Monday 11 February 2019.

Ballots need to be returned by Friday 1 March 2019.
