DEW Update: Additional Restructures Announced

22 May 2019

The Public Service Association (PSA) has been notified by the Department for Environment and Water (DEW) of the additional restructures in the Office of the Chief Executive and the Water Infrastructure and Operations Division as part of the current phase of the ‘Reshaping DEW’ project.

The draft organisational structures under these proposals can be found here:

The PSA is aware staff have been advised of this proposal and have received proposed organisational structures for their areas as well transition principles which have been previously consulted on, a copy of these transition principles can be found here.

The Department expects that one ongoing employee from the Office of the Chief Executive will be declared excess to requirements under this proposal. The PSA will work with members to ensure their rights under the Enterprise Agreements are adhered to. All other affected ongoing staff will be filled into the proposed organisational structures after the consultation period has concluded.

Member feedback during this consultation period is a crucial right available to you through your enterprise agreements. Providing feedback through the PSA is a confidential process and the Department must respond to the feedback provided by the PSA.

It is expected that the Department will continue to announce more restructures in different sections as well as specific group and regional proposals. The PSA will be holding a number of member meetings and teleconferences in the coming weeks and months to discuss the various proposals.

Members with feedback about the proposal can provide it to PSA Organiser Joshua Reiter by email by Tuesday 28 May 2019.
