Department for Health and Wellbeing | Procurement and Supply Chain Management | Budget Savings Strategy

15 March 2019

The Public Service Association (PSA) has now been advised of the proposed outcome of the review of Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM), Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW) to meet budget savings requirements in 2018-2020 as specified by the State Government.

In formal advice from DHW to the PSA (here), management claims the proposed changes will begin to meet the target of a 10 percent reduction over the next two years in the staffing and budget for the Department’s head office, as the health system undergoes significant structural reform.

PSA members need to be aware these proposed reductions are in addition to the significant structural reform of DHW which has commenced as part of the “Future State Design” process.

Consultation has commenced and feedback on the proposed changes is due by close of business on 20 March 2019. Members who have any comments or concerns can email directly to the department to Health.with a copy to PSA or can send through directly to PSA to be included in the PSA’s submission.
