DASSA’S Response to PSA Feedback

03 June 2019

Drug and Alcohol Services SA (DASSA) have responded to the PSA’s feedback on the proposed Model of Care (MoC) (here).

The response provides assurance that:

  •  Key staff will be supported with CDSM training
  •  Social work is included in the multidisciplinary teams which are seen to be essential to provide evidence-based treatment
  •  DASSA is seeking input from SA Pharmacy to determine what further detail regarding pharmacy services is relevant for inclusion

In response to the PSA comments about self-referral, it was pointed out that DASSA is a specialist service and as such it is appropriate to promote a referral-only pathway for new clients.

Notwithstanding this, DASSA will consult with clinical managers to determine key priority criteria for access to services including for clients who self-refer, and pathways into treatment for complex clients who do not have a referral.

Please feel free to continue to assess the proposed MoC and provide your comments to the PSA.

Even though the consultation period has closed we are keen to maintain your updated thoughts on the transition. Comments can be sent by email to PSA.
