Crib Break Progress – Draft Personal Flexibility Agreement

20 July 2018

The Public Service Association (PSA) has been tirelessly pursuing the introduction of a crib break arrangement for Intensive Compliance Officers (ICOs) at Community Corrections, Edwardstown for a considerable time. Some of the delay encountered has been due to the Office of the Commissioner for Public Sector Employment deciding that a Personal Flexibility Agreement (PFA) would be preferable to a group Workplace Flexibility Agreement.
The PSA has recently received correspondence from the Department for Correctional Services providing a draft Personal Flexibility Agreement (PFA) for staff working as Intensive Compliance Officers at the Intensive Compliance Unit, Edwardstown.

Members are encouraged to read the correspondence (here) and provide feedback to PSA by email at by close of business Tuesday 31 July 2018.

A meeting is to be convened locally with management and employee relations to facilitate staff discussions. Members are encouraged to attend to ensure they have a good understanding of what the conditions of the PFA are.

Should members be satisfied with the wording in the PFA, it is envisaged that the PFA will be adopted for those ICOs who are in agreement. It would be anticipated that once this process is finalised the new roster would subsequently be able to commence within a reasonable time frame
