Clinical Reconfiguration Service Plan

24 February 2016

The Public Service Association (PSA) has been provided with a presentation from Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) about the proposed reconfiguration of clinical services. For a copy of the presentation click here.

SALHN has
advised that the reconfiguration would allow the alignment of services across the network; the capacity to right size” wards and divisions; maximise inpatient space and clinical expertise.

T
he staff in scope are Allied Health professionals, ward clerks and administrative assistants in Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) and Noarlunga Hospital (NH).

SALHN has advised that some staff will be required to relocate from NH to FMC and or within FMC. Furthermore, some reporting lines
may change. In-scope staff will be able to put in a preference for work location. In the event that there are more staff than the number of positions available there will be a merit-based process.

The PSA's view is that any proposed changes need to adhere to the consultative principles to ensure a fair and proper consultation process.

SALHN has advised that staff were presented with information about the clinical reconfiguration on Tuesday 16 February 2016.
