Celebrating Naidoc Week 2019 | Voice, Treaty, Truth, Let’s Work Together For a Shared Future

08 July 2019

This week, from the 7th to the 14th of July 2019 is NAIDOC week. NAIDOC week is held every year to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s NAIDOC theme is Voice, Treaty, Truth, Let’s work together for a shared future. Drawn from the recommendations of the Uluru Statement from the Heart, this year’s theme focuses on speaking truth to history, and building structures for a meaningful voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People in Australia’s democracy. More information about NAIDOC week and this year’s theme is available here.

The PSA celebrates the knowledge and strength our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members bring to our union. We stand shoulder to shoulder with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander PSA members and communities for social justice, and for civil and industrial rights in the pursuit of equality and self-determination.

Join the PSA in marching at this year’s NAIDOC march on Friday July 12, and visit the PSA stall at the   family fun day.
