Car Parking Allocations And Shuttle Bus Update

02 November 2017

CALHN management consulted with unions about car parking at a meeting held on Monday at the new Royal Adelaide Hospital.

CALHN CE, Jenny Richter, advised that an independent review of nRAH car parking allocations would be initiated with the goal of releasing additional passes with the confidence that the release would not introduce unnecessary congestion. The review will utilise raw data that is currently being collected in situ by Spotless.

Should additional passes become available these will be allocated to staff that are on the car park waiting list. The PSA has requested that prioritisation of the waiting list allocations occur to favour those staff who were wrongly rejected in the first round of allocations. Staff and unions will be consulted before the final criteria is adopted.

The shuttle bus service has been restored as per recent CALHN and SCSS bulletins and will continue until 10 November 2017. CALHN assurance was given that information about the shuttle bus services will be provided ahead of time before further changes are made.

CALHN have encouraged staff to use the Adelaide Metro 97A bus for other times, although the last service from the new RAH is 7:41pm Monday to Friday, and an hour earlier (6:41pm) on the weekend and public holidays. This obviously does not suit staff working on shifts that conclude after these times.

The PSA urges staff to utilise cab charges when these are available so that CALHN can see the demand for safe travel during this uncertain period.

If there are continuing difficulties members should contact the PSA Members’ Rights Hotline immediately so the PSA can escalate for resolution as needed.
