CALHN - Central Adelaide Palliative Care Service Proposed Extension From Five to Seven Days

15 January 2020

A proposal has been put forward by CALHN for CAPCS to move from a five day service to a seven day service to increase access to care for community patients on weekends and public holidays.

CALHN’s proposal can be found here.

A number of questions remain about the proposal including:

  •  On-call allowance for weekend work in case of sick leave
  •  What will happen if not enough people volunteer to go on to the weekend roster (current proposal states that weekend roster is voluntary for current staff however will be mandatory for new staff)
  •  The application of annual leave provisions for working over a seven day roster
  •  Will new contracts be required to accommodate the change in hours?

Please forward any feedback to PSA by email by Wednesday 22 January 2020 so it can be included in a collated and non-identifying manner in the PSA response which will be submitted to management.
