SA Health - Allied Health Assistants Review

14 May 2018

As part of your new enterprise agreement, the Public Service Association (PSA) successfully negotiated for the creation of a new classification stream for employees in SA Health who work assisting Allied Health Professionals.

Members in-scope for translation to the new Allied Health Assistant Stream (AHA) classification stream will comprise of employees who are currently classified in the Operational Services Stream (OPS) or Administrative Services Stream (ASO), work in SA Health, and assist one of the Allied Health Professional disciplines listed further down in this information update.

It is critical that the PSA understands the current employment status of affected members. To assist in building our understanding and ensure the best outcomes, we ask that affected members complete our online survey (here).

The enterprise agreement requires that a review and transition to the new AHA stream be undertaken within six months of the approval of the agreement. The PSA has now been formally advised that the review has commenced.

The PSA will make a submission on behalf of members about the transition to the new stream. Members with any feedback in relation to the transition of existing employees to the AHA stream or about any other matter relevant to the review are requested to provide it by email to PSA, no later than close of business 25 May 2018 for inclusion in our submission.
