Breastscreen SA (BSSA) – Cessation of the Proposed Changes to BSSA Screening Support Unit

09 October 2018

As members would be aware BreastScreen SA (BSSA) had previously begun consultation with the Public Service Association (PSA) and members on proposed changes to the BSSA Screening Support Unit.

On 24 September 2018 the PSA met with BSSA Screening Support Unit leadership team and several PSA members to discuss the cessation of these changes. The PSA requested to be advised formally in writing of BSSA’s withdrawal from these proposed changes.

BSSA has now written formally to the PSA (here). BSSA advises they have ceased with their decision to make changes to the BSSA Screening Support Unit. However BSSA has advised in this letter that there will be an ongoing review and assessment to improve and to identify any inefficiencies within the Screening Support Unit. BSSA have also stated that they will ensure communication to clarify roles and responsibilities within the Unit.
