Make Sure You Vote for the New Enterprise Agreement – The PSA Recommends Voting ‘YES’

08 January 2018

The PSA is recommending members support the government’s proposal for a new salaried agreement. The majority of the PSA’s proposals – based on what members told us – are included in the proposed agreement. PSA members can be proud of having achieved many new and improved conditions – and having those conditions protected in a much stronger agreement.

Voting for your new Enterprise Agreement opened on 19 December 2017 and closes on 15 January 2018 at 5:00pm. The ballot process is formally conducted by the Government. Most members will have received instructions from their agency on how the ballot is being conducted in their agency. Members who have not received voting information should contact their ballot officer. Ballot officer details can be found here.

The PSA has prepared several documents for members to assist in considering and understanding the proposed Enterprise Agreement:

The PSA leadership, PSA Council, and PSA Worksite Representatives have all unanimously resolved that, based on the terms of offer from the government, our objectives have been met for this round of enterprise bargaining.

Members can be satisfied that all reasonable avenues have been explored and, when considered as a total package of wages and conditions, the proposed Enterprise Agreement represents a great achievement for PSA members.

If the vote is successful the Agreement will proceed to the South Australian Employment Tribunal for approval. Once this has been completed, the new wage rates will apply and will be back paid to the first full pay period in October 2017.

The PSA continues to hold enterprise bargaining meetings at worksites to go through the specifics of the proposed Enterprise Agreement and explain what it means for PSA members. If you would like a meeting to be held at your worksite please contact here.
