Enterprise Bargaining General Meeting

17 February 2017

A formal Enterprise Bargaining general meeting with the Government was held today.

The PSA was represented by PSA Assistant General Secretary Natasha Brown, Strategic Advisor David Stevens, Senior Industrial Officer Austin White and Project Officer Andre Wise.

The PSA once again confirmed that we do not accept the limitation of a 1.5% wage increase and that the PSA continues to review all clauses in the current agreement and to draft a proposed Enterprise Agreement which covers the needs of our members. The PSA stated at the meeting that once this draft is complete (and has been endorsed by the membership through our Worksite Representatives) the PSA will be in a position to present it to Government as a new draft Enterprise Agreement.

At the previous meeting the PSA requested confirmation that Government intends on negotiating a single agreement. This confirmation was given by Government at the meeting today.

Since the previous meeting the Government submitted draft replacement Consultation, Grievance and Dispute resolution clauses. The PSA has fully considered these clauses and today formally rejected them in their entirety. The PSA is drafting improvements to the current Enterprise Agreement Consultation, Grievance and Dispute resolution clauses.

The next meeting is scheduled for Friday March 3 2017.

The strength of our negotiating position will rely on strong membership support and engagement.
